In order to gain the confidence of His intelligent living creatures, God must be true. He must be faithful to His promise, trustworthy regarding His prophecies and in suit with the proved scientific facts. There is such a God of truth. Not only His enemies have tried to discredit Him, but most of those who are pretending to be His servants and priests. These religious hypocrites went so far as to concentrate their word, wisdom, their philosophies, predictions and their plans against the Word of God, against His law and His purposes. Therefore, in this day, when all the theories and systems are shacked from top to bottom, the question is now: Who should be found true, God or man?
    The confused seekers of truth have said in many cases, in despair: “Oh, the Bible is an old instrument with which you can sing any old song.” If this were true, would mean that the author of the Bible was completely confused and divided against Himself. But this couldn’t be true regarding God whose visible creation, works in such a wonderful unity and harmony. Then, rationally, His Book, the Bible, couldn’t be totally confused and it couldn’t allow any interpretation to be made on it.
    With 800 years before the coming of Jesus Christ, the Almighty God, the Creator of all material or spiritual beings, gave a challenge to people. He said through His faithful prophet: “I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the peoples be assembled: who among them can declare this, and show us former things? let them bring their witnesses, that they may be justified; or let them hear, and say, It is truth.” – Isaiah 42:8; 43:9.
Why God Almighty wished to gave a challenge to people? We can find the answer of this question if we turn back to the spring of the true information, that is the Holy Scripture. In its first book, Genesis, we can observe that, after God created the first human couple, the faithfulness of human was tested.
    By who came the trial? By the spiritual creature named “Day-star, son of the morning”, a creature who wanted to raise himself “like the Most High”. He started a revolution through lie and deceit. What did he want to obtain through this revolution? He wanted to prove in front of the spiritual creatures like him that he, Lucifer, can turn man, the work of God, on his side and against the Creator. Thereby, a doubt was seeded in mint of all, that was: “God, is He really the Supreme one? Or, Lucifer, that being perfectly created, is able to raise himself in order to be like the Creator?”
    This question regarding the supremacy needed time to solve perfectly all its aspects. In hearing of human family, betrayed and confused after practicing religion, God says a sentence to the rebellious creature: “I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15) This was the first promise of God for the descendants of Adam and Eve, who had to be born imperfect. What predicted this pronouncing? That a seed who will be born in future, will destroy the head “of the old snake named the devil and Satan”.
    If people have known the promise of God, raise from the fact that Eve considered herself able to be the promised woman and her first son, Cain, the seed. At this wrong understanding, surely the rebellious spirit have had an important contribution, for the importance of this first promise to fall in risible. Cain became the first killer not of the rebellious spirit but of his own brother. It’s no wonder that during the period of 1656 years till the time of flood only a few people have looked towards this first promise of God.
    The world of flood was a world full of violence, immorality who was jeering Noah’s family. But why? Because, this family composed by eight members, was faithful to God’s decision to put an end to that world through a flood, and they built an ark, even if until that time there wasn’t any rain on the earth “But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.”. For many years, for the inhabitants of the earth all things seemed to be the same and will continue in that way despite of God’s decision; perhaps they were thinking as these words say: “Where is the promise of his coming? for, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” However, even if the mockery of Noah’s contemporaries was hard to bear, even if the faith of Noah and his family was tested, the flood came at the time decided by God. About Noah’s faith in God’s decision, we can read: “By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” This illustration of flood’s time, where through God’s decision was fulfilled, became prophetic, being mentioned by Jesus Himself in His sermons.
    God thought that it would be proper make more expressly the promise from Eden about a seed, through a man, Abraham, and He said that the seed will come through a descendant of Abraham. The great wisdom of Jehovah God, is revealing to us from how He proceeded with Abraham. God’s promise is fulfilling when it seems to be too late, when the appearances seem to be averse, and only those who prove faith in the blessings of His promises, could have a part of them. “Who in hope believed against hope, to the end that he might become a father of many nations, according to that which had been spoken, So shall thy seed be. And without being weakened in faith he considered his own body now as good as dead (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb; yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Wherefore also it was reckoned unto him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was reckoned unto him; but for our sake also, unto whom it shall be reckoned, who believe on him that raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.”
    The prophetic illustration of Abraham’s test, show off the steady character of Jehovah God. The sacrifice should be brought on the Mount Moriah and lately, on the same mount, was raised the temple built by Solomon. This mount was a part of the Jerusalem and in this citadel came in 33 a.Chr. that man who had to be the right promise seed, namely Jesus Christ. This mount, near a small citadel, Salem, gets a name, “Jehovah-jireh” that is “Jehovah it shall be providedJehovah will take care” and of course Jehovah is the one who is standing over for His promises to be fulfilled. It wasn’t necessary for Isaac to be brought as a sacrifice because this sacrifice wouldn’t have had any value. However, this illustration, in which Abraham’s seed, Isaac, had to be another prophetic illustration regarding the promise seed, namely that seed will suffer a pain like a crushing of a heel.
    Abraham was informed by God that the promise seed will suffer before it will get the promise land: “And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;” At the proper time, Jehovah, faithful to His promise, tell Moses and then all descendants of Abraham and Isaac that was the time for the hard captivity to come to the end. The power of God was demonstrated in front of the mighty Pharaoh through the ten plagues and then the released people is led through the Red Sea on the promise land of Abraham. This happened as Jehovah said: “But the nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. But thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. And in the fourth generation they shall come hither again; In that day Jehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.” Before this glorious act to remain in the memory of people of Israel, the Almighty God discover them His Holy Name for the released ones to give honor and respect to this Name and these people to become witnesses of the fulfillment of God’s promises.
    It was said to these people: “Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am ... I have declared, and I have saved, and I have showed; and there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and I am God.”
    After the people of Israel receive God’s law, after the mount is wrapped of the appearance of God’s power, they enter in a covenant of faithfulness with God, through a direct agreement. The way those which have marched out from Egypt acted, and the end of their lives, are a warning for us for not to follow their example of unfaithfulness towards God. Only those which have had trust in God’s promises and the descendants of those released from the captivity of Egypt enjoyed the blessings of the promised land.
    The apostle Paul mentions those times and he says: “Take heed, brethren, lest haply there shall be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God: but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called To-day; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin: for we are become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm unto the end: For who, when they heard, did provoke? nay, did not all they that came out of Egypt by Moses? And with whom was he displeased forty years? was it not with them that sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that were disobedient? And we see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief. Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.”
    In this first part of the theme we observed the first promises of God for mankind and how Jehovah God have kept His these promises. If we want to understand the truth we must dismiss the religious preconceptions from our heart and mind. We must let God to speak for Himself. Any other way will lead us only to more confusion.
    What though people, whether they are religious or ungodliness, have had discredited and minimized the promises of God recorded in Bible and have put the opinions and traditions above this book? What though these religious leaders have thrown back the right record of the Bible? Are these shocking and dramatically facts able to change the Bible and its message of truth? A right judgement gives us the assurance that the Living and True God gave to the seeker mankind an inspired written revelation about Himself. Thereby, let our position be like one of the writers of the Bible, who said: “For what if some were without faith? shall their want of faith make of none effect the faithfulness of God? God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.” (Romans 3:3,4).
    To find God true, means to let God give the answer at the question “what is the truth”, question which make people free. This means to accept His Word, the Bible, as truth. Isaiah, a major prophet, asked the chosen people of God: “And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits and unto the wizards, that chirp and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? on behalf of the living should they seek unto the dead?” And then, Isaiah gave the secure urge: “To the law and to the testimony! if they speak not according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.” (Isaiah 8:19,20)
    By turning back from the traditions and philosophies of laic people and through the acceptance of God’s Word we “let God be found true”. In this way we appreciate more the comparison between Himself and common man with narrow view and mind. According to this, God says: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We are convinced the Word of God is true because He support it and make it to become true. He add: “so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:8-11). The grandeur of His thoughts and His ways is superior to us. The infallibility of His Word makes it to be the true knowledge and guide for us.
    After 470 years from the time of promise made to Abraham, Abraham’s seed entered that land to take it over. Then, it was a period full of ups and downs, a period of the judges. In this time, faithful to His promise, Jehovah delivered in a miraculous way His people, when they have turned back to Him with a faithful hearth. Let’s remember the acts of deliverance done through Samson, Gideon, Barak and Deborah. The mighty arm of God was there when the oppression of the peoples from neighbourhood seemed to be unbreakable. After about 400 years from the enter in Promised Land, during the reign of king David and his son Solomon, the entire promised territory is taken over.
    During the reign of king David, God makes a promise like an one-sided covenant: “When thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, that shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son: if he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men; but my lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. And thy house and thy kingdom shall be made sure for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.” This promise of God is named the covenant for kingdom too, and this covenant declared that its heir will be a descendant of king David, but His reign will be not a fleeting one for His throne will be established forever and He, the heir, will settled forever in the heavenly house of Jehovah God. After the scission of the people during the reign of king Roboam, the son of Solomon, the royal line of David continued only on Juda’s throne, and this happened untill the last king of Juda, about which God’s prophet, Ezekiel writes: “And thou, O deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day is come, in the time of the iniquity of the end, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Remove the mitre, and take off the crown; this shall be no more the same; exalt that which is low, and abase that which is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: this also shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.” (Ezekiel 21:25-27)
    Because of Satan’s influence through the religion of Canaan and through the unfaithful heart of the majority of kings which have stood on Jehovah’s throne from Jerusalem, God announced that the line of kings will come to end till The One who will have the right for the crown and in whom hand will be committed. While Juda’s kingdom was disputed by the two empires, Babylon and Egypt, Juda’s kings with the majority of people were turning back from their God and were turning for help and salvation towards the demon gods of the other people: “Therefore, son of man, speak unto the house of Israel, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me. For when I had brought them into the land, which I sware to give unto them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their sweet savor, and they poured out there their drink-offerings. As I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you; and that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, in that ye say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone. ... and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face. Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, saith the Lord Jehovah. And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me; ... and ye shall know that I am Jehovah.” (quotes from Ezekiel 20)
    Truly, the prisoners of war were judged, but Daniel, who have sought with all his heart the fulfillment of God’s promise regarding the covenant of kingdom, says: “Seventy weeks are decreed upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy.” After Daniel enumerates the important events which will happen during these 70 weeks of years regarding the holy citadel, Jerusalem and regarding the anointment of the Saint of saints, he continues: “Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: it shall be built again, with street and moat, even in troublous times.” Daniel 9:25
    The order for the rebuilding of Jerusalem was delivered in the 20th year of Artaxerxe’s reign, in 454 b.Chr. and then, although the times were averse under the ruling of Nehemiah, the citadel of Jerusalem turn from a brash into a beautiful and strong fortified city. Thereby, regarding Jerusalem, Herodot says: “in a short time, there where was a brash appeared a city which was a bit less towards a few cities from Asia, as regards the size.”
    In 29 a.Chr. rather in the autumn of that year, after those 69 weeks of years were fulfilled, Messiah, the prince, came to the people to whom was made the promise. His coming was not how people imagined and His work and His reason to come were understand only by those which “were attracted by His Father”
    The understanding of these great things was reserved to those who will live now at the end of this system of things and these promises weren’t totally understood neither by those who have wrote these words from Holy Scripture. Daniel, God’s prophet, writes about this: “And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my lord, what shall be the issue of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall purify themselves, and make themselves white, and be refined; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but they that are wise shall understand.”
    Messiah came not to deliver the Jewish nation from roman oppression and He didn’t praise Pharisees or Saducees, those who considered themselves spiritual shepherds for people. Jesus conffesed the purpose of His coming: “Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.” A short time before the calvary, Jesus said in His prayer: “I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word. Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee: for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine.”
    Only a few contemporaries of Jesus Christ have identified and accepted Messiah, the promise seed from Eden, and this happened because of the bad disposition of their hearts towards God. “Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand; And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, And their ears are dull of hearing, And their eyes they have closed; Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes, And hear with their ears, And understand with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear. For verily I say unto you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which ye see, and saw them not; and to hear the things which ye hear, and heard them not.”
    The work of Jesus Christ, Messiah, couldn’t be limited to the period when He was on earth. Owing to His faithfulness, Jehovah Gd, His Father, endowed Him with power, glory and immortality in order to fulfill the last part of the Edenic promise, namely the destruction of snake’s head and his seed.
    The mystery regarding the second coming of Messiah was revealed only for those like Daniel: “And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications ... And I prayed unto Jehovah my God, and made confession, and said, Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments ... while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel ... And he instructed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee wisdom and understanding.” – quotes from Daniel 9.
    The proof for the second coming will be invisible to human eyes arise from the words of Jesus Christ: “Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also.” Apostle Paul explains the reason for the second coming of Jesus Crist: “Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, shall appear a second time, apart from sin, to them that wait for him, unto salvation.” The disciples of Jesus asked Him for the signs which will mark His coming.
    At the end of the seven times described by Daniel in chapter 4, the time for waiting at the right of God comes to end and the royal crown was given to The One who have the right to bear it. The faithful ones have observed this from 1914 through the signs which have marked the beginning of Christ’s reign.
    As all witnesses beginning with Abel until nowadays, we are witnesses too at the fulfillment of God’s promises. Thereby, Jehovah God is the The One who’s not changing His promises and He is not a stranger for us. He had announced, He had redeemed, He had preached and we are, with all of old, His witnesses in the question: “Who is the Supreme One?”
